Printemps des Arts paid tribute to music by Charles Ives in 2018. It was a discovery for many people as it is very rarely performed in concert in Europe. There's something amazing about it as the magic of his harmonies, the sometimes distended time and the strange quality of his melodies make this music unique. Charles Ives is still a pioneering figure because of that. Violinist Liana Gourdjia and pianist Matan Porat recorded his four sonatas composed between 1899 and 1916 to emblazon this wonderful discovery on your mind. It was too good an opportunity to reawaken the repertoire to celebrate the release of their album which will mark a milestone.
